Charles Kim is a producer, multi-instrumentalist and community organizer. Intimately tied to communities around Boston, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, he can be found organizing arts events, education programs, and music workshops. Whether on stage with a bass or in community centers with youth, he always seeks a common principle: culture as a communal affair. Art, to him, is a way to bring people together. For the past two years, he’s developed literacy programs in Boston’s Chinatown with Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center, Josiah Quincy School and the Cultural Agents Initiative at Harvard University, engaging specifically with the arts and its role in educational practices. Currently, he is finishing a masters degree at Harvard focusing on philosophy, creativity, and community-building.
